erosion

I walk down the colonnade
step by step,
letting it embrace me,
eroding away my worries and the stress from the outside world
Like a water droplet sliding down the wall next to me
Finding its way into a crack
Smoothening it,
reshaping it,
Making space for other beings to grow.
The erosion opening a stage for imagination
Letting your mind wander
Travel to other worlds, to other times, to other places.
The cracks becoming stages for the performances of the nature
Greenery spreading over the granite,
flowers daring to look out to the sun from the shadows
creatures making their homes in the space made to be passed.
Like so many humans that we are passing by every day,
Trying not to look
Their homes in the shadows of the public spaces.
I embrace the erosion
Let it take my edges away
Let it make time for change,
Offering space for biodiversity.
I look back at the colonnades in Rome that ones served as spaces to be passed,
now being art that we come from all over the world to see.
The erosion having reshaped them, repurposed them
Let it reshape me,
walking down the colonnade
